First up, check out this cool promotional video for CVT made by our very own Sonja!  Thanks Sonja – great job!  Please share this with your friends.  We’re saving up to buy a 30-second spot in the Super Bowl next year.  🙂

Speaking of the Super Bowl…be sure to sign up for the CVT VIIIth Anniversary/Super Bowl LIII Party on Sunday, February 3rd, at the usual spot in the west end.  Celebrate 8 years of wacky adventures and enjoy the game on a moderately large screen – it’s always a great time!

And of course this Saturday is the big CVT Holiday Party and Potluck at Pocahontas State Park.  Angelic Annie and her elves have been hard at work making decorations and planning the entertainment (which for the first time includes a live performance/sing-along from the CVT band…destined to become a pop music sensation).  So bring your voices, your tacky sweaters, your white elephant gifts, and a discreetly packaged alcoholic beverage of your choice.  Friends and family are welcome…just make sure you RSVP so we can have an accurate head count.

Don’t forget our annual CVT “Town Hall” Meeting on Tuesday, January 15th, at Tuckahoe Library near Regency Square.  This is your chance to ask questions and help us plan cool events for the new year!  If you’re new to the group, we encourage you to come out and meet the gang!

Those are just a few of the highlights from our calendar…there are lots of other great events coming up, with more to be added soon!

Finally, a reminder to winter hikers…Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway are frequently closed this time of year, so be sure to check current road conditions before heading to the mountains.  The Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway Facebook page are updated frequently and are great resources.

Thanks for reading…hope to see you Saturday!
