This month’s James River hike is a moderate to 7.5 mile loop that includes the North Bank and Buttermilk trail. It is a CVT favorite due to its convenient location, outstanding views of the river and the Richmond skyline, and challenging terrain. It is also a great hike for anyone interested in transitioning from our shorter, easier hikes to more strenuous all-day mountain hikes. Expect to spend three hours on the trail. Hikers need to be alert, as mountain bikers frequent these trails.
**Dogs are allowed but please note that the trail may be difficult for dogs in some spots and dogs sometimes struggle with the T-Pot bridge.**
