Saturday's "Fistful of Hollers" RipRap Hollow hike in Shenandoah National Park was postponed due to rain and dangerous trail conditions. With Steve's blessing, I have rescheduled the hike to Saturday, December 1st, which is the same day as his "Little Bites" A.T. section hike in the same area of the park.

Saturday’s “Fistful of Hollers” RipRap Hollow hike in Shenandoah National Park was postponed due to rain and dangerous trail conditions.  With Steve’s blessing, I have rescheduled the hike to Saturday, December 1st, which is the same day as his “Little Bites” A.T. section hike in the same area of the park.

Usually we try to avoid having two similar kinds of events on the same day, but weekends are filling up, and I wanted to get my postponed hike back on the calendar soon.

Both hikes have a few spaces open – pick the one that’s right for you, and don’t double book yourself!

Little Bites of A.T. Hikes:  Turk Gap to RipRap Hollow:  A moderate hike along a 6 to 8 mile section of the Appalachian Trail along the ridge line with great views.

A Fistful of Hollers:  RipRap Hollow:  A strenuous 10-mile hike descending into scenic RipRap Hollow with stream crossings and 2000+ feet of elevation change.

We’ll meet at the Short Pump Walmart at 7:30am for both hikes and split up from there.  We’ll have some flexibility, so if you sign up for one hike and decide that morning you want to jump on the other one instead, that’s fine as long as the two group sizes are balanced.  Just be sure to let everyone know what you’re doing.

Join us – we’ll have a Rip-Rap-Roaring good time!
