For those of you who may have missed parts of Leigh’s popular White Blaze Trail Daze series, you have another chance! We will be repeating some of the A.T. sections within Shenandoah National Park, starting once again at the southern end. So whether you missed it the first time or want to relive the adventure, join us!
Continue your AT North sojourn by hiking from Swift Run Gap (parking MP66) to Bearfence (parking MP 55.5). This challenging 10.5 mile hike will gain 1600 feet with most of it starting with the trail head. But just think of the easy afternoon you will have. We will pass several PATC cabins and a couple of nice views. Passing through the Lewis MT campground where if time permits we can stop for refreshments. You should be able to walk at 2 miles per hour for the entire 10+ miles to be right for this trip.
The return time is approximate. If you have plans that require you to be back in Richmond at a specific time, please communicate this prior to carpooling with someone, or consider choosing a different hike.
Optional stop for dinner on the way back if there is interest.
