Three Ridges - Reeds Gap Trailhead

Join us for a tough but rewarding hike along Three Ridges in George Washington National Forest.   This is a popular backpacking circuit of over 14 miles, but we’ll trim off a few of the miles and tackle it as a day hike.  In order decrease the hiking distance, we will set this up as a shuttle hike starting at Reeds Gap and ending at the Tye River.

Despite the shortcut, the hike is still around 10 miles with around 4,000 ft in elevation gain…so definitely not a hike for beginners or those who are not up for a very strenuous hike!

The return time is approximate.  If you have plans that require you to be back in Richmond at a specific time, please communicate this prior to carpooling with someone, or consider choosing a different hike.

Optional stop for dinner on the way back if there is interest.

Join us if you’re up for the challenge!
