Step into a tacky wonderland filled with lights, elves, the big man himself…and more! We’ve turned RVA’s favorite holiday tradition into a can’t miss experience for anyone and everyone! Travel to the North Pole and spend a night immersed in holiday cheer.
This 6k course shows off Midlothian’s best display of tacky lights – you just wait! You’ll see dozens of homes with over-the-top tacky lights in the Walton Park neighborhood, including the famous Dawnridge Ct. Run (or walk) with thousands of other nice-listers and find out the true meaning of holiday spirit.
Make sure to bring your smartphones because you’ll be snapping tons of photos while you’re out there… Even shameless selfies. Don’t worry, we won’t judge. So dust off your ugliest holiday sweater, find anything you can that lights up or glows, hang your stockings by the chimney with care, and get your milk and cookies ready because Santa is coming early this year!
Team CVT will convene at Midlothian Mines Park, where Santa will be appearing for photo ops before the race. We will meet at Mid-lothian Mines Park at 5pm – so you will need to start your shuttling\parking\walking earlier than that.
There is a free shuttle to take to Midlothian Mines Park from Midlothian High School (401 Charter Colony Pkwy Midlothian, VA 23114) or John Tyler Community College (800 Charter Colony Pkwy, Midlothian, VA 23114) that begins running at 2:45pm. Allow 30 minutes to get from off-site parking to Midlothian Mines park via shuttle.
There is limited parking at the following locations:
•Surface lots off of Walton Park Lane & Browns Hill Court near The Goddard School & MEDI Weightloss Clinic (approx. 0.3 miles from the start/finish area)
•First Citizens Bank off of Midlothian Tpke. (approx. 0.3 miles from the start/finish area)
•The Millworks at the Green (approx. 0.4 miles from the start/finish area)
•Midlothian Middle School (approx. .7 mile from the start/finish area)
•JB Watkins Elementary (approx. 1 mile from the start/finish area)
Event features:
•One melted snowman & Santa Snack Cookie Stop along the course
•There will be present layaway (bag check) on-site.
•Entertainment on the course.
•Post-Event admission to the party at the North Pole

This event kicks off with one big mass start, but don’t worry, we’ll be organized about it. Line up with the group that best matches your projected pace.

The CVT $1 fee is waived for this event, but participants will need to register through the race website. Registration opens on October 2nd and is $30.00 until October 15th. Prices go up from there thru race day.
