The year is 2045. The world has been ravaged by an ongoing energy crisis, famine, climate change, poverty, disease, and wars. The only thing making life bearable is the OASIS, a globally networked virtual reality world created by James Halliday. People spend more time in the OASIS than the real world. Many go to school and work in the virtual environment. When Halliday, with no heirs or other living family, dies suddenly, he leaves a video will to those in OASIS saying that whoever can collect three keys (Copper, Jade, and Crystal) that are hidden throughout the universe of OASIS and pass through the matching gates will receive his fortune. The problem is that there are thousands of worlds in the OASIS, and Halliday’s obsession with 80s pop culture is the only clue to finding the keys.
Join us for the movie at Westchester Commons. Show time is 3:10 and we will meet inside the theater at 2:45. Following the movie, we invite you to experience the Virtual Reality technology available today at Tom and Lori’s. Will Warden will have his system set up and guide you into a world where you can: fire a bow and arrow at incoming skeletons and demons; engage in big bloody brawls in a gladiator pit; explore a wizards’ castle and play with every magical trinket he owns; climb Mt. Everest or maybe just play fetch with a cute little robo-dog in the streets of Venice.
If you’ve ever been curious about this kind of technology, come out and try it!!! Or if playing isn’t your thing, you can come watch the rest of us make fools of ourselves, enjoy Tom & Lori’s fire pit, big fluffy dogs, outdoor movie theater, and if so inclined, bring your suit and languish in the hot tub all while sharing some food and drink.
