Join your CVT family for a holiday feast at historic Michie Tavern in Charlottesville! “The Ordinary” at Michie Tavern features an all-you-can-eat buffet of southern favorites including fried chicken, barbecue, mashed potatoes, stewed tomatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, biscuits…you name it! They also have great desserts and a drink menu that includes cider and various fermented beverages. 🙂 It’s all served up by waiters and waitresses dressed in colonial attire.
Following lunch, we’ll burn off some of those calories with a walking tour of downtown Charlottesville. We’ll start near the downtown mall area, walk west toward University of Virginia, explore the campus, and work our way back. By the time we return to our starting point, it should be dark enough for us to enjoy the lighted holiday decorations in all their splendor!
There are several breweries and restaurants in the area in case we want to grab a quick drink or a bite before heading back home.
The return time is approximate. If you have plans that require you to be back in Richmond at a specific time, please communicate this prior to carpooling with someone, or consider choosing a different hike.
