The Grand Canyon, stretching over 277 river miles, up to 18 miles wide, and a mile deep, was designated a World Heritage Site in 1979 by UNESCO. Each year over 6 million people peer over its edge in awe and wonder but less than 1 percent have the opportunity to truly appreciate it by hiking from Rim to Rim.
Join REI member Richard Quick as he shares lessons learned from two self-guided cross-canyon hikes. His presentation is tailored to those interested in hiking from Rim to Rim as well as those who just want to see awesome pictures of this national treasure. An audience Q & A follows the presentation.
The class starts at 6pm and lasts about two hours. Stick around after the presentation for optional dinner at one of the nearby eateries!
This is a free vent – no Trail Bucks required. But please make sure you register with REI to reserve yourself a spot!
