What is Blue Sky Fund and how can you get involved??
Blue Sky Fund is a Richmond non-profit that CVT has been building a partnership with over the past few years. They provide outdoor education and activities to urban youth who may not otherwise have access or exposure to all the wonderful opportunities Richmond offers the outdoor enthusiast. They serve several different age groups and provide a range of services from classroom activities or field trips lasting a few hours, to full day trips like hiking or rock climbing, to multi day adventures camping or biking. Most opportunities take place during the school year. This is a natural fit for those of us who are looking to give back to our communities in some way, as the mission of Blue Sky Fund, “Inner Growth Through Outdoor Adventure” rings near and dear to our hearts. If you have volunteered with B.S.F. before but would like to attend as a refresher or just for fun(!), please feel free.
There are several different opportunities for volunteering, which will be described in more detail at the meeting. Please come out and help us support this great homegrown Richmond organization and share your love for the great outdoors with some awesome kids!
