Rescheduled from last year.  The southern section of Skyline Drive should be back open soon!

Each year, tourists flock to Virginia for its sandy beaches, majestic mountains, and historical landmarks…but outdoorsy types like us know our greatest treasure is actually our vast collection of rocky, picturesque hollers!  With this in mind, CVT is proud to present a yearlong tour of the many magnificent hollers of Virginia!

Riprap Hollow is one of the best circuit hikes in the southern section of Shenandoah National Park. The views from Chimney Rock, and along the ridge of Rocks Mountain, offer great vistas to the west and north. The spring fed stream in Cold Spring and Riprap Hollow is very scenic, and has a 50ft wide swimming hole fed by yet another mountain spring.

The return time is approximate.  If you have plans that require you to be back in Richmond at a specific time, please communicate this prior to carpooling with someone, or consider choosing a different hike.

Optional stop for dinner on the way back if there is interest.
