In yesterday’s post, I talked about how the “CVT Rewards” program is being discontinued. You can read about that here. One feature of that program that is remaining is the ability to earn points for participating in group events. The new website actually has a built-in points system with a lot of cool features.
On the old Meetup site, Kim and I would have to manually adjust member points after every event, which could be time consuming. Here, points will be automatically credited to you as soon you RSVP for an event (and automatically deducted if you cancel your RSVP).
As always, you can earn bonus points by wearing a CVT shirt at an event or sweeping on a hike. We’ll still have to add those points manually, so don’t let us forget!
You’ll also earn points for other online activity like posting comments and friending other members. You’ll be able to see your points history by going to your profile page and clicking on “My History”.
Another feature we now have is a ranking system in which you get promoted to new ranks as you hit certain points thresholds.
If you’re not interested in earning ranks, another option you have is to convert your points to “Trail Bucks”, which you can then use to pay for future events. Or if you’re feeling generous, you can transfer points to a Trailblazer in need!
